Corina Gonzalez, MD
Dr.
Gonzalez is the newest addition to the Department of Pediatrics, where she is
an assistant professor. She joins Georgetown University Hospital from
Children's National Medical Center, where she completed her residency in
general pediatrics. Dr. Gonzalez obtained her medical degree from University
of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina.
During
her training, Dr. Gonzalez received a number of recognitions for her work and
research in general pediatrics, including the Individual Research Trainee
Award, International Fogarty Fellowship from the National Institutes of
Health, and Scientific and Academic Achievement Award from the Children's
National Medical Center.
She has
published multiple articles, lectured in Argentina, and is affiliated with the
American Society for Microbiology, Sociedad Latino-americana de Infectologia
Pediatrica, and American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Gonzalez can be reached at

Carol Trippitelli,
MD
Dr.
Trippitelli joins Georgetown University Hospital's Department of Neurosurgery
as clinical assistant professor. She obtained her medical degree from
Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
Dr.
Trippitelli finished her internship in internal medicine and psychiatry
residency at John Hopkins University Hospital. She has completed her
fellowship certification in eating disorders at St. Joseph Medical Center in
Maryland and she completed her intramural research training fellowship at the
National Institutes of Health.
Dr.
Trippitelli has been published in the American Journal of Psychiatry and is
affiliated with the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical
Association, Maryland Psychiatric Society, and American Society for Bioethics
and Humanities. She received the Clinical Science Achievement Award for
excellence in clinical research. Dr. Trippitelli can be reached at (202)
296-2251. James Merikangas,
MD
Dr.
Merikangas joins Georgetown's Psychiatry Department as clinical associate
professor. Prior to that, he was assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at
Yale University School of Medicine, where he completed his residency in
psychiatry and neurology and became chief resident in neurology. He is certified
in neurology and psychiatry. He also conducts his own private practice of
neuropsychiatry, neurology and psychiatry.
Dr.
Merikangas earned his medical degree from John Hopkins University School of
Medicine. He has received a number of professional recognitions for his work in
neurology and psychiatry, some of which include elected fellow, American
Neuropsychiatric Association, and he was elected to the board of directors,
American Academy of Clinical Psychiatric Society. He is a member of numerous
organizations such as Royal Society of Medicine and World Federation of
Neurology.
He has
published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals, lectured extensively
nationally and internationally, and has edited several textbooks and journals on
